Awnings are measured from the center of the front arm to the center of the rear arm 

Awnings are measured in feet and most have a standard 2400mm projection, Aussie Traveller can be ordered to custom projections. 

What Legs Will I Need ?

Firstly, before we start, it is helpful to identify what brand of awning you have, as each brand has their own hardware and parts and they are not interchangeable.

Secondly, What kind of caravan do you have? Is it a Pop-Top, full size Caravan or an Off Road / Extra Tall caravan. Each pair of Legs/ Hardwares suit the type of van they are installed to, sold in pairs and can be ordered in Black or White to match your colour scheme of your van.

Carefree Hardwares

Carefree Short Hardware (Pop Top)

Best suited for pop tops or smaller caravans with a straight outer wall for example, walls with a height of 1600mm - 1700mm from the floor line up to the awning railing.

Carefree Long Hardware (Universal)

Best suited for larger caravans with a straight outer wall i.e., walls with a height of 1700mm – 2100mm from the floor line up to the awning railing.

Dometic Hardwares

Ultra Short - Suits a minimum wall height of 1475mm

Standard - Suits a minimum wall height of 1620mm

Tall - Suits a minimum wall height of 1925mm

If you are unsure, you can measure the main awning arm and match the corresponding measurements below.

(Main Arm – this is the outer arm you can see when looking at the van and the awning is rolled up and secured to the van)

Main Arm Length: 1350mm – You will need Ultra Short
Main Arm Length: 1550mm – You will need Short/Standard
Main Arm Length: 1855mm – You will need Tall

Aussie Traveller

Aussie Traveller refers to their Awning hardware’s/ legs as “Framesets”

Framesets are specially designed for extra strength and durability. The Frameset is suitable for the Sunburst Eclipse Awning and available for a range of vehicle types.

Full Van - Suits a minimum wall height of 1700mm

Short - Suits a minimum wall height of 1470mm

Pop Top - Suits a minimum wall height of 1470mm
