Essentials Caravans offers a comprehensive warranty to protect your caravan and ensure your peace of mind. This article outlines the main coverage, exclusions, claim process, and special terms for off-road models.
🛡️ What’s Covered
- Structural Components: Items manufactured by Essentials Caravans are covered for 3 years (12 months for off-road models).
- Electrical Systems: Covered by Caravan Electrical Solutions (CES) with 3 years support and 12 months labour.
- Plumbing Systems: Covered by BFI Plumbing Group with up to 5 years on workmanship and 1–3 years on parts.
- Replacement Policy: Defective parts may be replaced with refurbished or current equivalent items.
🚫 What’s Not Covered
- Chassis, axles, brakes, tyres (refer to original manufacturers)
- Appliances (e.g., fridge, microwave, TV)
- Damage from misuse, overloading, or off-road abuse
- Wear and tear (e.g., scratches, upholstery fading)
- Modifications or accessories added post-purchase
- Use as a rental or permanent residence
- Water damage from river crossings or flooding
📝 How to Make a Claim
- Contact an authorised Essentials Caravans dealer or the company directly.
- Provide:
- Proof of purchase
- Caravan details (e.g., chassis number)
- Description and photos of the defect
- Make the caravan available for inspection.
- Transport and insurance costs are the owner’s responsibility.
🚙 Off-Road & Semi Off-Road Caravans
- Warranty is limited to 12 months.
- Not designed for extreme off-road use or 4WD-only tracks.
- Additional exclusions include:
- Stone or impact damage
- Dust or dirt ingress
- Damage from hard landings or rutted roads
🧾 Warranty Validation
To maintain coverage:
- Complete and return the registration form within 7 days of purchase.
- Follow the service schedule outlined in the Owner’s Handbook.
- Keep service records stamped and up to date.
